Went to my first boat races at Hains Point, in Washington, D.C. back in the '50's. One of the most famous racers was Band Leader Guy Lombardo. My memories of others will come back to me later. Attended the drag boat races at Potomac Creek near Lake Anna, Va. I did some announcing there a couple of times of the "liquid asphalt" racing.
How long have you been a race fan?
Since the late 1940's.
Do you like other types of racing?
You bet! Just checkout the other sites on here. And yes, this site is (JA) Jack Approved too!

Hello JA Jeff & fans of boat racing. I will be celbrating my 74-3/4 birthday at the boat drags on the "liquid asphalt" in High Point, N.C. the last weekend in July. Be there! I will be in the pits of Ray Gramlich's blown Chrysler "Kemo Sabay" (Indian for My Friend". Ray now lives in Daytona Beach, Florida, but originally from Suitland, Md., just outside of Washington, D.C. He was the
mechanic years ago on the famous Top Fuel car "Kemo Sabay" of the late Tex Randall. Now retired and is now into drag boat racing. Ray also is a survivor of the famous "cable snapping" accident on the aircraft carrier USS Forestal in the '50's. Stop by and say hello! JAck Redd
Hey JA Jack! Glad to see you made it to the Boat site. I think there is lots of really cool possibilities here...just go to get the word out to the right bunch. I would think that fellow racers and crew...plus fans could use this to stay connected.
Jeff
